The Blue Mountains of Jamaica is really the only coffee growing region in the country, and arguably one of the most famous coffee-growing regions in the world. It is clearly defined and well protected. Only coffees grown between 900 and 1500m in the parishes of Saint Andrew, Saint Thomas, Portland and Saint Mary can be referred to as 'Jamaica Blue Mountain'. The area is fertile, cool and misty with high levels of rainfall, making for ideal coffee growing conditions. As a result of its excellent reputation, difficulty to harvest, and limited availability of land to cultivate, the beans are highly sought after and expensive. The coffee has a mild flavour and lacks bitterness. 100% Arabica beans.
This highly sought-after Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee has a smooth and balanced taste, clean and bright acidity, and almost completely lacks bitterness. The extremely unusual combination of high acidity and full body, results in a creamy and rich brew that is also zesty and bright.
