This morning 'pick me up' brew, has a French roast that imparts a distinct flavour to the dark brown coffee beans. Beans are well into the second crack, where the structure of the coffee starts to break down, when roasting is finished. This means that the coffee's natural characteristic flavours are muted, especially any acidic notes. Instead, the bittersweet tones from the roast dominate the flavour. These beans are roasted to 240°C, an approach that originated in France in the 1800s. 100% Arabica beans.
