This tea is grown on the banks of the Brahmaputra River in the Assam Valley in North East India. The leaf is large and bold, with a liquor that is deep and full, and a well-rounded traditionally malty flavour. This black, 'breakfast tea' is delicious as a strong builders' brew, with a smooth aftertaste.
Brew 1 tbsp of tea leaves per 250ml of freshly drawn boiled water, for 3-5 minutes. Assam tea is often served with milk (and sugar to taste).
More information on loose leaf tea brewing can be found in our simple brew guides here.
